I was born on February 6, 1970 in Manila, Philippines.  At the age of 16, influenced by my high school friends and to keep out of trouble, my parents enrolled me in a gym and quickly got lured to their aerobics classes.  I began attending a class a week and that soon became an almost daily habit.  I enjoyed the music and the discovery of the various movements I can do with my body.  In late 1992, while in college, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  Between my hospital visits and treatment, my escape was to go out dancing with my friends on the weekends and taking aerobics classes during the week.  I wanted to be an aerobics instructor at that point, but it was a different time. My dream was shelved and I went on a more traditional route.  

In 2001, I moved to Los Angeles for work and found myself attracted to the different fitness programs that my new home has to offer.  I enrolled at a gym and went regularly.  I also discovered running and enjoyed it immensely.  It was never too early or too late to go for a run, whether at the gym or outdoors.  Yoga was not something I discovered until I was forced to stop running after an ankle injury in 2009.  A friend introduced me to Bikram Yoga and that was the beginning of my long relationship with YOGA.
